Guddadamane Homestay is located in the coffee plantation owned and managed by the family. Guddadamane means house on a hill, back in the days this was the only house in this vicinity and this is how our family got the name. The property is over 150 years old built by our ancestors which is refurbished to modern standards, but by preserving the old architecture. The core business being coffee and pepper plantations, it was decided in 2009 to start the homestay vocation.
The homestay is managed by Sarsa and Samanvith, where Sarsa manages the kitchen with hands on involvement till date making sure the meals cooked and prepared are up to her standards. Our main intention is to provide home cooked meals and local malnad or Chikmagalur cuisine. On the other hand Samanvith takes care of the bookings and guests relations making sure the guests feel comfortable and at home.It has been over a decade since our family has been running Guddadamane homestay located in Chikmagalur. We take pride in hosting guests from all over the world.
Our aim is for our guests to have a good time at our property. Guddadamane Homestay in Chikmagalur is surrounded by nature and serenity which is a perfect place for someone who is planning for a short getaway with family or friends.
Sitting with the family one day Sarsa Manjunath decided to host tourists visiting Chikmagalur. The family was excited and started their research and collected information from everyone possible. There were positive as well as negative opinions. This was a new area where no one had any experience. Our family stood strong and decided to venture out. Getting all the necessary permissions and with the help of the Tourism Board of Karnataka in Chikmagalur we started hosting in January 2010. It has been a good journey, we will continue to host and cater good experiences to our guests.
Our strength is our staff who go beyond to make sure our guests are satisfied. They are friendly and make you feel right at home.
